• Director Lee Tamahori pitched a scene featuring Pierce Brosnan's Bond meeting an older Sean Connery as a former 007 in Scotland, but was told it was too risky to have two 007s in one film.
• Halle Berry suffered an eye injury during filming when smoke grenade debris struck her, requiring a 30-minute surgical removal.
• The ice chase sequence required eight vehicles—four Aston Martins and four Jaguars—all converted to four-wheel drive, which were intentionally wrecked during filming.
