• John Ridley developed an early television series version of the Eternals for ABC in 2015 that was described by the writer himself as a 'really weird story' that might not have been entertaining for everyone.
• Chloé Zhao began working on the Eternals script while simultaneously filming her movie Nomadland in 2019.
