• Warner Bros. paid $5.5 million for the film rights to My Fair Lady in 1962, an unprecedented sum at the time, plus a percentage of gross revenues.
• Jack L. Warner replaced Julie Andrews, the star of the Broadway production, with Audrey Hepburn for the film role because the studio wanted a more established movie name.
• Audrey Hepburn was 34 years old while filming but portrayed the 21-year-old character Eliza Doolittle in the movie.
• At $17 million, My Fair Lady was the most expensive film ever shot in the United States at the time of its production.
• The entire film was shot on six stages at Warner Bros. Studios Burbank over five months, from August to December 1963.
• Marni Nixon dubbed Audrey Hepburn's singing voice for most songs, though Hepburn sang the harsh-toned chorus of 'Just You Wait' and its reprise.
