- Mark Wahlberg was originally cast as Linus Caldwell but dropped out to star in Planet of the Apes, leading to Matt Damon taking the role instead.
- George Clooney's commitment to Ocean's Eleven forced him to turn down the lead role in Unfaithful.
- The Wilson brothers were considered for the Malloy twins roles but had to decline due to their commitment to The Royal Tenenbaums.
