- Tony Gilroy co-wrote the first two Bourne films but wrote only an initial draft for The Bourne Ultimatum and did not watch the finished film as of 2009, later criticized by Matt Damon for his work.
- Tom Stoppard wrote a screenplay draft for The Bourne Ultimatum but stated that none of his words appeared in the final film.
