• Sam Raimi pitched Thor to 20th Century Fox after making Darkman, but the studio rejected the concept and the project languished for seven years.
• The original plan was to make Thor for television on UPN, before Marvel Studios pivoted to producing it as a theatrical film in 2000.
• Mark Protosevich's initial script draft for Thor would have cost $300 million to produce, prompting Matthew Vaughn to rewrite it and bring the budget down to $150 million.
