Trivia & production notes

• Jon Favreau pitched the concept for The Mandalorian to Lucasfilm while directing The Lion King, developing the series during his off-hours on that project.
• Dave Filoni sketched a simple doodle of a baby Yoda-like creature that became the character known as The Child, combining his knowledge of Star Wars Mandalorian lore with Favreau's gunslinger concept.
• Favreau had already written scripts for four of the series' eight episodes before officially being hired for the project.
• Pedro Pascal initially believed he was being cast as Boba Fett before learning his character, Din Djarin, was a separate Mandalorian.
• The Mandalorian character is portrayed by stunt doubles Brendan Wayne, Lateef Crowder, and Barry Lowin in addition to Pascal's performance.
