Trivia & production notes
- Dan Schneider created Victorious as his fifth series for Nickelodeon, following The Amanda Show, Drake & Josh, Zoey 101, and iCarly.
- Schneider first met Victoria Justice in 2005 when she was twelve years old auditioning for Zoey 101, and after working with her on three episodes, he told Nickelodeon executives, "I've got your next star."
- The idea for Victorious came partly from Victoria Justice mentioning during a meeting with Schneider that she had attended a performing arts middle school.
- Nickelodeon created Victorious in response to Disney Channel's success with music-based franchises like Hannah Montana and High School Musical, asking Schneider to develop a music-focused show for the network.
- Victorious is the first Nickelodeon series to premiere in the 2010s decade, debuting before Big Time Rush's original pilot which aired in 2009.
- The show was produced through a partnership between Nickelodeon Productions and Columbia/Epic Label Group of Sony Music Entertainment to develop talent and release music.
- Victoria Justice learned she would not be returning for a fourth season in August 2012 when creator Dan Schneider informed her just days before, leaving her surprised and describing the cancellation as "a little bittersweet."
- Leon Thomas III had previously performed in Broadway musicals including The Lion King, The Color Purple, and Caroline, or Change, as well as the film August Rush before joining Victorious.
- Elizabeth Gillies and Ariana Grande had co-starred together in the Broadway musical 13 before both joining the Victorious cast.
- Victorious was filmed at Nickelodeon on Sunset in Hollywood, with the front exterior of Hollywood Arts High School created using digitally altered photos of Burbank High School.
